Dense winter snowpacks have begun to melt, giving way to rising river levels, and a number of advisories from the BC River Forecast Centre.
Highway 97 has reopened to single lane traffic in Cache Creek after flooding prompted a closure, but a flood watch remains in place.
A flood watch is also in place for areas around Cottonwood River, San Jose River, and Baker Creek near Quesnel, Williams Lake and Lhoosk’uz Dene.
Areas around the Nazko and West Road Rivers are also covered under a Flood Watch.
Meanwhile, a high streamflow advisory is covering the entirety of the Quesnel River, and the Chilako, Chuchinka, and Salmon Rivers.
Another high streamflow advisory has been issued for the Bulkley River and its tributaries around Smithers, Telkwa, Terrace, Kispiox, and the Hazeltons.
Rivers under high streamflow advisories are rising rapidly, but not expected to flood, while those under a Flood Watch may exceed bankfull.
