A wildfire which sprouted up near Coffee Creek in the Peace Region last night is the Province’s only active fire of note.
Currently covering 60 hectares, the blaze sparked along Highway 97 last night, just north of the intersection with Highway 29 in Charlie Creek.
It is believed to be human-caused, and is currently listed as out of control by the Wildfire Service.
Despite that, there are currently no evacuation alerts or orders attached to the blaze, though smokey skies may impact neighbouring communities.
Meanwhile, a fire that started near Toboggan Lake, north of Smithers last weekend, is now listed as under control.
