Work on the Coastal GasLink pipeline is nearly 87 percent complete as crews prepare for their annual Spring break-up.
Melting snow and warming temperatures during Spring months lead to soft ground conditions, which are not suitable for heavy construction.
During that time, crews will focus in on seasonally sensitive work, and ensuring enhanced erosion and sediment mitigation measures are in place.
Prior to the wind-down, crews managed to safely complete 85 percent of water crossings, and the Headwall slop access in the Peace Region.
According to CGL’s April construction update, more than 567 kms of pipe has now been installed along the 670 km pipeline route.
