The City of Quesnel and Cariboo Regional District have officially launched a website to promote engagement on a pool referendum.
Information on the North Cariboo Pool Referendum will be provided on the website to inform residents of the impacts of the decision they will be making.
That decision in question will see voters determine if the district should borrow $35 million to finance pool upgrades and raise the taxation limit for the North Cariboo Parks and Recreation Services.
That possible tax increase would see an approximate $75 per $100,000 increase on residential properties beginning in the 2024 tax year.
To accommodate forecasted spending if the project and borrowing proceed, the maximum tax requisition for the service would also increase to $9 million.
