Wood piles will be burned in the Seymour ridge area starting April 11 in an effort to reduce wildfire risks.
In an effort to reduce wildfire risk, the piles were created through a 10 hectare fuel management project along the Seymour Ridge trail.
Piles are located about seven kilometers up Hudson Bay Mountain road and are planned to be burned on April 11.
Though exact timing will depend on site weather and venting conditions, the burn will only happen if conditions are suitable and allow for smoke to dissipate.
The BC Wildfire Service and Ministry of Forests Wildfire Risk Reduction Program warn that smoke may be visible from Highway 16, Smithers, Telkwa, and the surrounding area.
