BC is set to raise the provincial minimum wage from $15.65 to $16.75 per hour, beginning on June 1st.
That increase matches 2022’s 6.9 percent average annual inflation rate, reflecting BC’s promise to tie annual increases to inflation.
Residential caretakers, live-in home-support workers, and camp leaders will also see a 6.9 percent increase in their wages.
Additionally, piece rates for 15 different hand-harvested crops will also be going up by the same percentage, beginning next January.
According to the Province, the increase will impact more than 150,000 employees province-wide who currently earn under $16.75 per hour.
