A $562,000 provincial investment will help improve Indigenous cultural safety and humility in local emergency management.
Two Northern communities are among 12 benefiting from the funding, which comes from the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund.
Both the $23,000 going to the City of Prince Rupert, and the $15,000 going to the Saulteau First Nation will be put towards training activities for emergency personnel.
Funding can also be used to provide emergency mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery assistance to First Nations.
