Environment Canada is warning of rapidly changing weather and road conditions in the northwest today.
A snowfall warning has been maintained covering inland sections of the North Coast, with up to 10 cms predicted to fall near Terrace and Stewart.
Overall accumulation has fallen short of initial predictions, mostly due to mixing periods of rain and heavy snowfall.
As a result, road surfaces are slippery and slushy in some areas, and coated in wet and heavy snow in others.
Precipitation will shift to rain this afternoon in most areas, though periods of heavy snow are still possible, and both may limit visibility on the roads.
