A 49-year-old man has died following the collision of two semi-trucks this past Wednesday, on Highway 20. The Williams Lake RCMP say it happened just before 7:30 p.m. on March 25th, about 25 kilometers west of Williams Lake.
RCMP have confirmed the man killed was a passerby who had stopped to assist at the crash site. He had been attempting to help a semi-drivers escape from their vehicle after they had become trapped inside, when the other vehicle involved had dislodged from the wreckage and struck him, resulting in fatal injuries.
Highway 20 was closed for some time after emergency crews arrived, and an investigation remains ongoing in collaboration with the BC Coroners Service.
