The power is out in parts of Terrace at this hour. The winter weather we’ve been experiencing has knocked down some trees onto power lines in a few different places, but the cause of some other outages remains under investigation.
As of the publication of this article, the power remains off in parts of Kitsumlaum surrounding the western part of Spokeshute road, and just west of there along Highway 16 near the Zimagotitz River.
The power is also off to some residents of the Terrace Bench, as well as Rosswood.
Further east, a tree has been reported down near Bornite Mountain road, and the power is also off in two places down Old Lakelse Lake Drive in the vicinity of Solomon way, and Williams Creek Trail.
Power outages have also been reported in the Nass, affecting Gingolx and Laxgalts’ap, as well as parts of Cameron Road in the Bulkley valley between Smithers and Hazelton.
BC Hydro crews have now been dispatched to all outage sites. While restoration times are not yet known, crews are seeking to restore power as soon as possible. 11 separate outages are affecting a total of 667 properties across the North. The largest outage is in the Nass due to a downed wire, affecting a combined total of 434 properties there.
