RCMP in Prince Rupert continue to investigate a sexual assault that occurred in the city last month, and they’ve now released a composite forensic sketch of a suspect and have appealed to the public for help identifying them.
The suspect in the case is described as being either a Caucasian or Asian man, between 20 to 30 years old, just over 6 feet tall, with a skinny to medium build.
RCMP say he was described to them as having black hair extending past his ears, was clean shaven, and was wearing a grey shirt, dark coloured jacket with star emblems and a distinct star earring.
The assault occurred near the 1200-block of Hays Cove Avenue on Sunday, January 4th, at around 7:45PM. RCMP investigators recently shared they have since received information that suggests the assault may have been targeted – though they add it has not yet been confirmed. As a result, they could not say with certainty what risk remains to the public with the suspect at large.
Anyone with any information on the case has been urged to contact the Prince Rupert RCMP at 250-624-2136, or alternatively, submit an anonymous tip via Crimestoppers.
