Search crews in the Northwest have been scouring the Thornhill area in recent days in search of missing 69-year-old man, Noel Ross Grant.
Noel Grant had not been since the morning of Friday, February 6th, when he left home in Thornhill for a walk at around 10:30am. In the time since, the Terrace Search and Rescue team has been joined by crews from Houston, Kitimat and Prince Rupert, including a K-9 unit.
Terrace SAR confirmed that following a reported sighting of Mr. Grant near Highway 16 at Sharples Road on Feb 6th, crews had focused their search within a 1,100 m radius in Thornhill, but have so far not located him.

His RCMP file is still active, and the Terrace RCMP have encouraged anyone with any information on his whereabouts to call them at 250-638-7400. Meanwhile, Terrace Search and Rescue has urged those in Lower Thornhill to search their properties thoroughly, including within garden sheds, greenhouses, vehicles, brush piles, and outbuildings, in case Mr. Grant may have taken shelter inside.
Noel Ross Grant is described as Indigenous, around 5′ 8″ tall, and 161lbs. He has long brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a fur hood, blue boots, and aviator-style glasses. His family has shared that he has dementia, and they are concerned for his well being.
