A home in Fort Nelson First Nation had been struck by gunfire this past weekend, and the Fort Nelson RCMP are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the shooter.
The Fort Nelson RCMP say they had responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting shots fired on Chalo Road just after 1:00am on Sunday, January 18th. At the scene it was determined that 4 shots had been fired from a shotgun by an unknown shooter, or shooters, with one of the shots having struck a house on Chalo road.
Upon investigating the area the shots had come from, officers had recovered two loaded shotguns, a single dirt bike boot, a hat and a pair of headphones.
RCMP have released photos of the recovered items publicly in the hopes that anyone who may know who they belong to will contact the Northern Rockies RCMP detachment, and they have urged anyone who does to contact them.
Investigating officers add, they believe those involved may be known to each other and they do not suspect any further risk to the public.
