The power is out in parts of Prince Rupert at this hour.
BC Hydro reported just before 8:30am that about 1889 properties were without power east of 7th avenue, including the Rushbrook area and along parts of Highway 16 towards Port Edward.
The cause of the outage is currently under investigation, but work crews are on-site assessing the situation.
