A washout along Highway 16 on Haida Gwaii has currently interrupted travel between Tlell and Skidegate.
Highway 16 has been closed between Lawnhill Road and Miller Road due to a washout 8 to 13 kilometers west of Skidegate near the vicinity of Jungle Creek.
There is currently no detour around the washout, but the Ministry of Transportation confirmed that crews are on-site and an assessment is underway. Hourly updates on the situation have been posed to Drive BC.
