Environment Canada is warning of potentially hazardous winter conditions for the North Coast’s inland areas, including Terrace, Kitimat and north along Highway 37 .
Forecasters say 25 to 35 centimeters of snow could fall between Saturday morning and Saturday evening, with the heaviest amounts expected around Kitimat. Terrace is expected to see somewhat less. There’s also a chance of freezing rain mixing with the snow Saturday afternoon.
Snow should taper off Saturday evening, but more accumulation is possible Sunday morning.
Drivers and pedestrians should be prepared for difficult travel, slippery conditions, and sudden drops in visibility that could reduce sightlines to near zero. Travel delays are possible.
