Northern Health says the Ksyen Regional Hospital in Terrace is currently experiencing a higher than normal patient volume, so waiting times across the Hospital’s departments, including the Emergency Department, may be longer than usual.
To reduce strain on the system, the Health Authority has asked those in the Terrace area with access to a family doctor to check in with them first for non-urgent needs, while those without can avail of an online virtual care clinic, the First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day program, Healthlink BC at 811, or a pharmacist for a number of prescriptions for minor issues.
That said, the Emergency Department is still available, and those in need of immediate emergency care should still call 9-1-1 or go to the Emergency Department directly.
