Yoplait brand’s YOP Drinkable Yogurts have been recalled due to a packaging defect that the company says could lead to the presence of pieces of plastic in some containers.
Yoplait Canada had issued a proactive recall this past Saturday, November 22nd, for all flavours of its 200ml bottles of YOP drinkable yogurt after the defect was discovered. The recall affects all 200ml bottles of YOP with best-before dates between October 21st of this year, and January 12th of 2026.
No other Yoplait products sold in Canada are affected.
Yoplait Canada says the health and wellbeing of Canadians is their top priority, and they’ve advised the public not to consume these products if bought, and to either throw them away or return them to the retailer for a refund.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is now leading the recall, overseeing the removal of 200ml bottles of YOP from store shelves and launching a food safety investigation.
So far, the agency reports there have not been any injuries associated with the yogurt recall.
