Smithers RCMP are reaching out to the public as they work to identify the owner of three horse saddles recovered in the Smithers area. Investigators believe the equipment may have been lost or stolen around the time of the Bulkley Valley Fall Fair, but despite following all available leads, the rightful owner has not been located.
The saddles are distinct in appearance. One is a black Western saddle featuring silver star conchos. Another is a light brown Western saddle with floral-tooled skirts and fenders. The third is a dark brown Western saddle with a black seat. Police hope these details will prompt recognition from someone in the region’s equestrian community.
Local riding clubs, stables, and equestrian groups are encouraged to share the information to help reunite the saddles with their owner. Officers say community awareness is key, especially given the amount of horse-related activity in the Bulkley Valley during fair season.
Anyone who recognizes the saddles or has information about who they belong to is asked to contact the Smithers RCMP at 250-847-3233.
