A major RCMP operation in Burns Lake has taken a significant amount of illegal drugs off the streets and led to eight arrests.
On Thursday morning, October 30th, officers with the Burns Lake RCMP, assisted by North and Southeast District Emergency Response Teams and Police Dog Services, executed search warrants at three properties linked to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. Distraction devices were used during the entry to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Police seized more than three kilograms of suspected illicit drugs, several firearms, and a large amount of cash. They also collected additional evidence consistent with drug trafficking activity.
All eight individuals were arrested without injury or incident. The RCMP say the operation demonstrates their continued commitment to protecting communities and reducing the impact of illegal drug activity in the region.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no charges have yet been laid.
Anyone who notices suspicious activity or potential drug trafficking is encouraged to contact local police.
