Masset RCMP are continuing to investigate a fatal crash that occurred on Friday, October 24, near Port Clements, and are appealing to the public for assistance.
Police say the head-on collision happened around 3:30 p.m. near the Woodpile Creek Bridge and resulted in one fatality. Investigators are seeking dash cam footage from anyone who was driving in the area between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. that day.
Officers are particularly interested in footage showing weather and road conditions at the time of the crash, as it could help determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
RCMP also believe that a small SUV may have been in the area and that the occupants could have valuable information about the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the vehicles involved beforehand, or has dash cam footage from that time is asked to contact the Masset RCMP at 250-626-3991.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision and have not released further details at this time.
