The RCMP’s E Division Serious Crime Unit has taken over an investigation near Dawson Creek after human remains were found inside a burned vehicle.
Police say the discovery was made on Monday, October 13th, in the area of 251 Road and the Kiskatinaw River. The vehicle is identified as a silver 2005 Mazda 6, possibly with Alberta licence plates. Authorities now believe this may be a case of homicide.
Investigators are appealing to the public for help. They are looking to speak with anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the days leading up to the discovery or noticed smoke in the area. The RCMP is also asking residents with game cameras or surveillance equipment near the scene to check their footage for anything unusual.
