LNG Canada is going ahead with fairing activities this week at their LNG Site in Kitimat as they start-up Train 2.
The company stresses that flaring is a Provincially regulated safety measure. They also say the ongoing fairing is a critical part of their safety operations during the facility start up, and that it should not be commonplace during regular operations.
From now until Friday, October 10th, residents of Kitimat will likely notice a 15 to 90 meter flare at the LNG Site, along with associated black smoke and noise.
Notifications about LNG Canada’s start up process in Kitimat are available via the Voyent Alert! network, and the company has encouraged Kitimat area residents to sign up.
