Yesterday Prime Minister Mark Carney concluded his visit to London, U.K., where he met with key international leaders and global investors to strengthen Canada’s economic and diplomatic relationships.
During the visit, the Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with the leaders of the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, and Iceland. Talks focused on expanding trade ties and coordinating on shared global security concerns, including support for peace in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Carney also met with top figures in private capital and investment, promoting Canada as a stable and attractive destination for global investors—part of a broader strategy to create more good jobs and build economic resilience at home.
While in London, the Prime Minister took part in the Global Progress Action Summit. The event brought together world leaders to explore ways to grow the economy sustainably, with a focus on worker empowerment in today’s shifting geopolitical landscape.
Carney wrapped up the trip by attending the Women’s Rugby World Cup final, celebrating Team Canada’s impressive silver medal performance.
