The District of Kitimat has opened a cooling centre at Tamitik Arena to help residents beat the heat.
The centre will run daily from 8:30 in the morning until 10 at night, starting today and continuing through Sunday.
Other public spaces are also available to escape the heat, including the Kitimat Visitor Information Centre open from Tuesday to Thursday 9am-6pm and Friday 9am-3pm ,
Riverlodge Recreation Centre, open from 9am-9pm
Kitimat Public Library open from Monday-Friday 10am-6pm and on weekend 12pm-4pm
the Kitimat Museum and Archives, open from 10am-5pm from Monday to Saturday
And the community wading pools at Chilko open form 12pm till 5pm from Thursday to Sunday and Heron Friday to Sunday aslo 12pm-5pm
The District is encouraging residents to take advantage of these options to stay cool and safe during the hot weather.
Everyone is welcome to drop in and take a break from the hot temperatures.
