There’s a heavy Police presence in downtown Prince George right now and the Prince George Courthouse has been evacuated as the RCMP investigate a potential bomb threat.
Prince George RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Jennifer Cooper has confirmed that multiple roads are blocked off between Third Avenue and Second Avenue and between George Street and Queensway.
The RCMP have asked the public to stay out of the downtown area as their high-risk investigation continues.
Second potential bomb threat in Williams lake
The Courthouse in Williams Lake had also been evacuated due a separate potential bomb threat this morning
Details are light at this time as to what has occurred but the Williams Lake RCMP has confirmed that they conducted a ‘threats investigation’ at the courthouse, with City staff confirming an evacuation of staff in the courthouse had also taken place.
The Williams Lake Fire Department confirmed that they were informed of a potential bomb threat at the courthouse by the RCMP and had been standing-by to assist.
Multiple roads were blocked off between Seventh Avenue and Borland Street as well as between Third Avenue and Borland Street to assist with the investigation.
The Williams Lake RCMP says the investigation remains on-going, but they have confirmed there is no further threat to the public at this time.
