The British Columbia government is investing 35 million dollars to support new clean industry projects that will create local jobs, strengthen communities, and advance climate action. This funding comes from the CleanBC Industry Fund, which helps companies adopt cleaner technologies and transition to net-zero operations at their facilities.
Since 2019, the fund has committed more than 368 million dollars to 173 projects across B.C. These projects are expected to reduce over 14 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions over the next decade — the equivalent of cutting emissions from 20 percent of all heavy-duty vehicles in the province.
The CleanBC Industry Fund supports innovative solutions such as electrification and the use of biocarbon to replace fossil fuels. For example, ARC Resources has electrified major facilities in northeastern B.C., while Teck Resources is piloting cleaner methods for mineral and metal production.
By supporting clean technologies, the fund helps industries improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and remain competitive in the global low-carbon economy. Applications for the 2025 funding round are currently open.
