LNG Canada says planned flaring will take place from August 11th to 13th as part of restarting Train 1. The flare could reach between 20 and 80 metres high, with more noise and visible black smoke expected.
The company says flaring is a provincially regulated safety process that burns off natural gas in a controlled way during certain operations, and it’s not expected to be routine once the plant is running normally.
