This year, eighteen remarkable British Columbians have been awarded the Medal of Good Citizenship, marking a decade of celebrating selfless community service. Among this year’s honourees is Dr. Olivier Drouin from Terrace, recognized for his dedication to bringing advanced medicine and holistic healing to northern B.C. His work has significantly improved healthcare access for many in the region, making a lasting difference.
The Medal of Good Citizenship is the province’s second-highest honour, given to individuals who generously give their time and effort to better their communities without expecting recognition or reward. Since the award’s establishment in 2015, nearly 200 medals have been presented to citizens from all across British Columbia.
The official medal presentation ceremonies are scheduled for late fall 2025. Nominations for the Medal of Good Citizenship are accepted year-round and are open to any current or former long-term resident of B.C.
