The City of Terrace has activated Stage 3 water use restrictions, which limit non-essential water usage across the city. Under these rules, residents are prohibited from sprinkling lawns and other non-essential green spaces. However, watering by handheld hose is still allowed for flowers, plants, and shrubs.
People may also top up their hot tubs and pools, but no new watering of lawns is permitted. Residents in newly constructed homes with first-time lawns can apply for a special permit for watering. Non-sport green spaces within the city are banned from watering, and sports fields will be subject to reduced watering.
Exceptions to these restrictions include vegetable gardens and fruit trees, which are exempt. The City encourages residents to follow their designated watering days to help conserve water during this period.
Terrace has been enforcing water restrictions year-round, with Stage 3 being the most restrictive. As we face these water limitations, the City urges everyone to continue being mindful of their water use to ensure a sustainable water supply throughout the summer months.
Stay informed and adjust your watering habits accordingly.
