CFNR—Canada’s First Nations Radio—serves more than 60 Indigenous and remote communities across Northern and Central British Columbia. From Haida Gwaii to the Kootenays, and from the Cariboo to the Northwest, our signal reaches thousands of listeners every day through 96.1 FM, 97.1 FM, 98.1 FM, and 95.1 FM frequencies.
This expansive network does not include our sister station CJNY 106.3 Journey FM, serving urban Indigenous listeners in the Vancouver area.
Emergency Communication Matters
CFNR plays a critical role in delivering emergency alerts and important safety information across rural and First Nations communities. Whether it’s a wildfire, evacuation notice, tsunami advisory, or public health emergency—timely and accurate information saves lives.
We encourage municipal governments, First Nations governments, Emergency Operations Centres, and regional districts to add CFNR to their emergency communication mailing lists.
