On July 4, Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report about a suspicious male in a parking lot on 1st Avenue North. The man was seen inspecting vehicles before returning to his own car. Police intercepted the vehicle as it was leaving and noticed the driver showed signs of impairment.
The man was detained for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. During a search, police found evidence consistent with drug trafficking and arrested the man for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Further searches uncovered 17.4 grams of suspected cannabis, 78.5 grams of suspected cocaine and crack, 80.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 12.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine. All substances appeared to be packaged for trafficking.
Williams Lake RCMP praised the proactive efforts of their officers, emphasizing the importance of removing dangerous drugs from the community to protect residents and reduce crime.
