Rural and remote communities, First Nations, and not-for-profit organizations across B.C. can now apply for funding through the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP). The program’s fourth intake opened on July 24, 2025, and applications will be accepted until October 31, 2025.
Since its launch, REDIP has already invested over $142 million in more than 450 projects, helping to create an estimated 7,000 jobs in rural areas. The program’s goal is to support projects that promote economic diversification, resilience, and clean-energy opportunities while improving infrastructure in rural communities.
There are four funding streams available for applicants:
-
Capacity Building: Up to $50,000 per year for three years, plus up to $100,000 for priority projects.
-
Business Development: Up to $100,000 for business planning, feasibility studies, and other development steps.
-
Implementation: Up to $1 million for developing new economic infrastructure or services.
-
Community Transition: Support for areas adjusting to major economic changes due to employer closures or large projects.
To apply, you will need a Business BCeID account. BCeID is an online identification system required for accessing many provincial government services. Registration can take several weeks, so applicants are encouraged to begin the process early.
