RCMP Seek Public’s Help Identifying Person in Vanderhoof Homicide Investigation
BC RCMP’s North District Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the homicide of Gordon Sims in Vanderhoof and is asking for public assistance to help move the case forward.
Sims was found dead in the 100 block of 5th Street East, sometime between Friday, January 10th, and Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. Police have now publicly identified him in hopes of generating new leads.
As part of the investigation, police have released surveillance video of an individual who may have information about the case. They are urging anyone who recognizes the person in the video or has knowledge about the incident to come forward.
The family of Gordon Sims is also asking the public for help, urging anyone with even the smallest piece of information to contact police.

The RCMP say community support may be key in solving this case and bringing answers to the family.
