A B.C. delegation will promote the province’s technological and agricultural innovations in Europe, hoping to attract investment and grow international trade opportunities. From June 9 to June 14, Diana Gibson, Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation, and Rick Glumac, Minister of State for Trade, will attend three high-profile conferences: London Tech Week, GreenTech in Amsterdam, and VivaTech in Paris. These events will showcase B.C.’s cutting-edge tech and agri-tech solutions, including greenhouse automation, AI, and vertical farming technologies. The mission aligns with the B.C. government’s Trade Diversification Strategy, launched in early 2023 to increase exports and strengthen trade ties in emerging markets. B.C. is already seeing success, with exports growing in both new and established markets. At VivaTech, B.C. will participate as part of Canada’s delegation for 2025, which includes 16 B.C. companies. GreenTech Amsterdam will also feature B.C.’s leadership in agritech innovations, fostering global partnerships. These efforts are key as B.C. positions itself as a global hub for innovation and tech talent.
