National Indigenous Peoples Day is a time to come together, reflect, and honour the vibrant cultures, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Looking for a meaningful way to take part in your community? We’ve got you covered with a full lineup of celebrations happening across the region.
Terrace – June 14
Join the Kermode Friendship Society at George Little Park for a day filled with live music, traditional dancing, cultural showcases, local food, craft vendors, and more. This annual event brings the community together in celebration of Indigenous heritage and resilience.
Burns Lake – June 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Celebrate the rich traditions and contributions of Indigenous Peoples with a full day of events. The day begins with a parade at 10 a.m., starting at the College of New Caledonia, and continues with performances, activities, and community gathering at Spirit Square. The 2025 Burns Lake National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration is proudly supported by Your Nation, Your Station — CFNR.
Prince Rupert – June 21
An event is in the works! While the location is still to be confirmed, Prince Rupert will also be marking National Indigenous Peoples Day with its own celebration. Stay tuned for more details.
