Smithers RCMP are investigating a fatal crash that occurred yesterday morning on the Telkwa Forest Service Road.
At around 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday May 20, emergency crews responded to a report of a vehicle that had left the road and ended up partially submerged in the Telkwa River.
Two people were inside the vehicle. Tragically, the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained only minor injuries, received treatment at hospital, and has since been released.
Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and more details may be shared as they become available.
