Kitselas First Nation has released the official list of nominees for its upcoming election, which will take place on June 12, 2025. The nomination meeting on May 2 resulted in 37 candidates for council and 8 for chief. The field includes a mix of long-standing community members and new faces.
Council nominees are Jericho Collison, Anne McDames, Gerald Nyce, Jorden Squires (Squally), Ken McDames Jr, Dawn Derrick, Joan Mason-Nyce, Glenn Bennett, Titus Auckland, Brieanna R. Wright-Seymour, Freda Wright, Lloyd McDames Sr, Brian Seymour, Victor Wright, Cheryl Campbell, CJ Bennett-Nabess, Anne Wright, Geneva Mason, Lynn Wright, Sharon Nabess, Madison Rose Gerow, Daniel Ronald Parker, Dustin James Parker, Melissa Rae Gerow, Clarisa Spencer, Roxanne Lorraine, James Trevor Seymour, Susan Bevan, Sue Clayton, Roxanne Ridler, Marcia Spencer, and Melynee McDames.
Chief nominees include Joe Bevan, Tyler West-Johnson, Victor Wright, Freda Wright, Roxanne Ridler, Glenn Bennett, Ian Chad Gerow, and Taylor Bachrach.
Nominees must submit any withdrawals by May 7. Election procedures allow two scrutineers per candidate and outline a tie-breaking method involving a random draw.
