The return of the salmon is near, and with it comes a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and tradition. The 11th Annual Salmon Festival will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025, and Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Jim Cicccone Civic Centre in Prince Rupert.
Organized by the Prince Rupert/Port Edward Gitmaxmak’ay Nisga’a Dancers & Society, this two-day event honors the arrival of the salmon through traditional song, dance, and drumming. It’s a powerful display of Indigenous culture, proudly shared with people of all backgrounds.

The Salmon Festival is more than an event—it’s a living expression of gratitude for the salmon that nourish communities and sustain traditions.
