The BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit has added 22 new cameras to the DriveBC network, increasing the total number to 503 across the province. A key addition in Northern BC is a camera installed at Pine Pass on Highway 97, near Powder King Mountain Resort, providing coverage in this remote area between Prince George and Chetwynd. The new cameras are part of a broader effort to improve road safety and provide more reliable information on road and weather conditions. One of the cameras at Paulson Summit, located on Highway 3, is powered by solar energy and includes weather sensors, making it part of an advanced, integrated monitoring system. These updates aim to assist drivers across the province, offering real-time views of conditions. The cameras are available for public access through DriveBC’s website, helping travelers stay informed and make safer decisions on the road.
