Starting June 1, communities will have a shot at some funding to create an age friendly environment.
The Age Friendly BC program is meant to help communities give their seniors independent and active lives.
By 2031, nearly a quarter of the province will be 65 years or older.
So, through the program, communities can access funding for projects like tailored housing, transportation, wellness, and inclusive programs and recreation.
With a total of $500,000 available, a stream 1 grant for as much as $25,000 is dedicated to age friendly assessments and action plans, while stream 2 can grant up to $15,000 for age friendly projects.
