Provincial funding supports new professional truck driving training in the northwest

A new training program for prospective professional truck drivers will be starting up for people in the northwest.

Go Team Professional Training LTD is receiving $995,000 from the province to deliver the program.

With 24 spaces available, participants will go through 15 weeks of employability and skills training to become Class 1, professional truck drivers.

That will consist of mandatory entry level training, 7 weeks of on the job experience, and two weeks of follow-up support.

First round of the program starts on May 1 in Williams Lake, while a second will start in Terrace on August 14, and a third and final will happen in 100 Mile House in January 2024.
