Over the next week, the Northwest Fire centre are forecasting warmer temperatures and lower humidity levels, prompting caution.
With those predictions, the BC Wildfire Service is encouraging the public to exercise caution when conducting any outdoor burning.
While there are no open burning prohibitions currently in effect, the service is reminding the public about precautions that must be taken.
Anyone conducting outdoor burns are advised to never burn in windy conditions, create an appropriately sized fireguard, never leave a fire unattended, and ensure that adequate resources are on hand to control or extinguish a fire.
The centre is also advising burn registration holders to ensure that any winter piles that were burned are fully extinguished as some fires can burn deep and smoulder until spring time.
People are being advised to report any wildfires, unattended campfires, or open burning violations by calling 1 800 663 5555.
