More prescribed burning is set to take place in the Williams Lake area this month, beginning as early as today.
BC Wildfire crews will be teaming up with the Williams Lake First Nation to conduct the burns over a 24 hectare section of Fox Mountain.
Site preparation could pick up today, weather permitting, with significant burning planned to begin next week, running through the end of the month.
Smoke will be visible in the City and the surrounding area, with traffic control on-site while the work is being conducted.
On-going burning activities are also currently underway covering 9.5 hectares in Boitanio Park and the Stampede Park Grounds.
Those activities are expected to continue through April 21st, weather permitting, and traffic crews will also be on-site during the burns.
