More than $2.2 million will be distributed through the Community Emergency Preparedness fund accross the province.
That provincial funding will support local capacity to provide emergency support services through volunteer recruitment, supplies and equipment, and training.
Of that, Prince Rupert will see $3,892 towards their ESS capacity, and Daajing Giids will see $29,965 for their ESS storage and supplies.
Smithers will also get $60,000 for ESS transport and their security and volunteer safety project.
The funding comes after the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness committed $180 million towards the fund in 2023.
