Residents of the Burns Lake area looking to learn more about First Nations artifacts, tools, traditions and culture are in luck.
A free Cultural Resource Management course is being introduced at the College of New Caledonia’s Burns Lake campus next month.
Running from April 3rd to June 9th, the course is being fully funded through a partnership with the Cheslatta Carrier Nation.
Participants will learn about archaeology, library archives, genealogy, mapping, the history of tools and artifacts, and much more.
Graduates will receive industry certification in a number of areas, including: wilderness, bear and chainsaw safety, first aid level one training.
