For the first time in months, the avalanche danger rating on the North Coast has dipped below considerable risk levels.
But, risks do remain slightly elevated, with Avalanche Canada setting the danger rating to stage 2 for the North Coast, Stikine, and Bulkley Valley.
Stage 2 denotes a moderate risk of small, human-caused, avalanches in certain areas, but a low likelihood of naturally occurring events.
Instabilities in a weaker lower snowpack have begun to level out, though it remains thinner further inland.
Weekend snowfall and winds have created a number of wind slabs that could still pose significant risk to those in the backcountry.
