Most of the North is covered under a slew of winter weather warnings issued by Environment Canada as we head into the weekend.
A snowfall warning is in place covering inland sections of the North and Central Coasts, as well as the Bulkley Valley and Cariboo.
Up to 25 cms of snow is expected to fall between today and Sunday, with the brunt of the storm hitting tomorrow afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to begin rising this afternoon, but could still dip into the -20s after windchill on the coast overnight.
In the Peace Region and Northeast, temperatures could dip into the -40s, prompting an extreme cold warning there.
It takes fewer than 10 minutes for exposed human skin to catch frostbite in temperatures below -20, with hypothermia risks also elevated.
