A new online tool has been launched by the Province to help communities better prepare for climate-related emergencies.
Users of the new ClimateReadyBC portal will have access to hazard and mapping tools, risk data, and resources to help prepare for climate disasters.
Visitors can also find information and historic data on floods, wildfires, earthquakes, tsunamis, and more, which was previously spread across multiple government sites.
You can see the portal for yourself at this link.
To help communities make use of that data, the province is also boosting the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund by $180 million.
That fund supports projects which help local governments and First Nations prepare for the risks of natural disasters, and mitigate their impact.
