A series of engagement sessions over the next few months will help inform Canada’s first Urban, Rural and Northern Indigenous Housing Strategy.
That strategy seeks to compliment Canada’s three existing distinctions-based housing strategies for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis.
Upcoming engagement sessions will be led by Ottawa’s national Indigenous partner organizations, who will also help co-develop the strategy.
While today’s announcement didn’t confirm any extra funding, the Coalition will be leading an engagement session, and providing their expertise.
Exact dates for in-person sessions have yet to be announced, but are expected to wrap-up this spring with a final report in the summer.
Written submissions can be e-mailed to placetocallhome@cmhc-schl.gc.ca , and an online survey, linked here, is available through March. 31st.
